For athletes, pain relief or stiffness

This session combines the muscle softening benefits of heat, and the pain relieving benefits of cold. We use hot stones throughout your entire session to soften the muscles and hot towels to grab the muscles for a deeper massage. Bio freeze is applied to any problem areas for pain relief. Firm pressure and slow strokes are applied to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).

This session can help in reducing aches and pain and areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. Deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as chronic muscle pain or injury into  rehabilitation. Deep tissue massage techniques are used to break up scar tissue and physically break down muscle "knots" or adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) that can disrupt circulation and cause pain, limited range of motion, and inflammation.

Our therapists will use fingertips, knuckles, hands, elbows, and forearms during a deep tissue massage. You may be asked to breathe deeply as the massage therapist works on tense areas. After the massage, you may feel some stiffness or soreness, but it should subside within a day or so.

This session can be done as a couple's session.

ABOUT THIS SESSION

Manual lymphatic drainage can speed up the healing process by enhancing circulation and the flow of fluid in lymphatic vessels, reducing swelling. The massage can also release any trapped blood cells, diminishing bruising. Every move you make after your surgery makes a difference.

You can perform massage on yourself, meditate, perform focused breathing exercises, receive massage from a massage therapist, eat raw foods rich in fiber to reduce constipation and much more. We've come up with the perfect package to address most of those things.

Using a sequence of gentle massage strokes, manual lymphatic drainage helps to stimulate the flow of fluid through the lymphatic system, thus relieving swelling and speeding up recovery.

Our manual lymphatic drainage massage includes some education on self-care practices. It is not painful, much more gentle than regular massage, and is usually very pleasant. Very little oils or lotions are used on the skin during these sessions. A dry brushing technique is preferable. Your massage session not only includes the Lymph massage and dry brushing, but also includes Deep Breathing Exercises as well as gentle stretches that will further stimulate lymph flow.

Surgeons typically recommend for best results that care be initiated in the first few days following surgery (within the first 5 days), and some recommend that patients come for a standard number of treatment sessions. However, the number of sessions should ideally be determined by the therapist in conversation with the patient and based on: the amount of swelling; patient responsiveness to treatment; patient commitment to self-care practices; and of course, on the patient’s perception of benefit and financial considerations. Patients should experience some benefit from the very first treatment, and may find that this benefit increases upon subsequent visits, but typically no more than a handful of sessions are required to achieve maximal benefit.

SOUGHT AFTER BENEFITS OF MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE AFTER LIPOSUCTION

1. Speeds up the healing process by: reducing swelling and bruising, increasing the removal of cellular debris and other waste from the area (including free fats), reducing local inflammation, and decreasing the risk of infection by improving the immune response (the lymphatic system plays an active role in immune surveillance, immune cell transport, and clearance).

2. Decreases scarring and the build-up of fibroid nodules (hard lumps), and consequently improves skin texture and tone.

3. Decreases pain, sensitivity and touch-avoidance by speeding healing and providing gentle and pleasing massage.

THE BEST FOODS TO EAT AFTER A COSMETIC SURGERY

After undergoing surgery, your body will have some inflammation. Something that can help reduce it is to stay hydrated. In addition, drinking enough water also helps avoid complications — such as blood clots or fat embolisms.

Something else that reduces inflammation is magnesium. Although there are vitamin supplements that can help you reach your doctor’s recommended daily intake, there are also plenty of foods that provide this nutrient naturally. A list of foods to eat after cosmetic surgery includes:

Swiss cheese

 Dark chocolate

 Soy milk

 Bananas

Potatoes — with their skin

 Black and/or kidney beans

 Pumpkin seeds, cashews, and peanuts

 Spinach

 Avocado

 Salmon

 Egg yolks

 Sardines

 Fortified cereals

Also, while spices and marinades make everything taste better, try to eat as many bland foods as possible. This allows your digestive system more time to rest and gives your body more energy to dedicate to the healing process. So does cutting your food into small pieces and fully chewing every bite before swallowing.

Smoothies, sherbets, yogurt, soups, applesauce, puddings, watermelon, avocado, bananas, toast, and plain bagels are also easily digested. When eating vegetables, cook them instead of eating them raw. This lowers their fiber content, which reduces bloating and gas.

FOODS TO AVOID AFTER A COSMETIC SURGERY

The same way there are foods that help reduce inflammation in your body, there are others that can actually cause additional inflammation. Avoid them throughout your healing period to ensure a smoother process. Foods to avoid after include:

Processed meats — such as bacon, deli cuts, and sausages

Refined grains — such as white bread, pasta, rice, and crackers

 Sugary cereals

 Candy

 Fried foods

 Baked goods

 Sodas

 Fast foods

**Please note, an 20% gratuity is added to your bill at check out.

But if your therapist did a great job, let them know this by leaving an additional tip at check out. They rely on their tips, as this is a service industry.

These sessions include a heated chair massage session, wine and dessert of your choice.
